NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some Asian American students are hoping the new school year brings an end to bullying in the New York City school system.
A new report by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Sikh Coalition found that 50 percent of Asian American students interviewed said they’ve been bullied.
The Sikh Coalition’s Amardeep Singh said 25 percent of those surveyed said they also suffered from physical violence, especially for Muslims and Sikhs.
